Carol Rosenstein is the founder of Music Mends Minds, a non-profit organization that provides musical support groups for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and other neurological disorders, inspired by her late husband's transformative experience with music therapy.
The research interests of Michele Tagliati, MD, include the study of early and advanced therapeutics of Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and other movement disorders. Tagliati pioneered the use of deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's and dystonia, and his work contributed advances in the definition of outcome predictors and therapeutic settings of DBS. He is currently involved in research on the role of nonmotor and nondopaminergic mechanisms in the pathophysiology of Parkinson's.
Dr. Catherine Lord is a Professor of Psychiatry in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She received her BA in psychology from UCLA and her PhD from Harvard. As a clinical psychologist, she focuses on autism and related disorders with the goal of improving methods of promoting independence in individuals with autism and their families. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a fellow of the American Association of Arts and Sciences. She has been awarded with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for Autism Research and has over 300 journal publications in research that was funded by NIH, Autism Speaks, and the Simons foundation.
